Learning Experience Designer | eLearning Developer
About Shakeem
I'm an Instructional Designer and Learning Experience Designer with a background in K–8 education and a Master of Arts in Learning, Design, and Technology from Central Michigan University.
My path into instructional design started in the classroom. Years of teaching technology and library media gave me a front-row seat to what makes learning stick — and what doesn't. That experience shaped how I approach design: every course, module, and learning interaction I build is grounded in real learner needs, clear objectives, and measurable outcomes.
Today I specialize in eLearning development using Articulate Storyline 360 and Rise 360, designing branching scenarios, interactive modules, and professional learning experiences that connect content to behavior change. I'm especially passionate about the intersection of AI, accessibility, and learning design.
When I'm not building in Storyline, I'm thinking about how to make complex ideas feel simple — and how to make learning feel worth the learner's time.

I design structured learning experiences that connect learning objectives, assessment, and learner interaction. My work focuses on digital course design, professional learning, and educational technology integration to create measurable learning outcomes.
My design process follows a structured workflow that begins with identifying learning outcomes, aligning assessments to demonstrate mastery, and developing activities that support progressive skill development. I prioritize clarity for instructors, engagement for learners, and continuous improvement through data-informed iteration.

I believe learning design is an act of empathy. Before I build anything, I ask: who is this learner, what do they need, and what barriers might get in the way? My work is grounded in UDL principles, backward design, and a deep commitment to accessibility — because great learning experiences should work for everyone, not just most people.
